2022 - Sanctuary Given
Entry in the World of Wearable Art Competition

Section: Aotearoa.
Materials: Made from woollen suiting fabric, embroidery thread.
I used Singer sewing machines from four generations of my family in the creation of this garment. The oldest machine is my great grandmothers from 1877.
Technique: I used my grandmothers Singer Sewing machine to do the free motion embroidery. The process involved removing the machine feeding feet and freely moving the material to draw onto the fabric.

Awarded: 3rd in the Aotearoa Section 2022
